Wellness tips while QUARANTINED

Just the other day, I received an e-mail from a good friend who shared with me 25 MENTAL HEALTH WELLNESS TIPS FOR QUARANTINE written by a psychologist named Dr. Eileen M Feliciano out of New York. While the list is full of great strategies, I  really wanted to share the following two with you:

  • Stay hydrated and eat well.

Being at home more often than usual may lead to the tendency to snack more (more on this next week), so there’s no better time to keep healthy food and a water jug in sight. It’s also a great time to pull out those dusty cookbooks on your shelves and put them to good use. Whipping something up that’s delicious and nutritious is a great way to pass the time.

  • Notice the good in the world, the helpers.

The news is all about “the virus” and it’s pretty depressing.  But instead of refreshing your COVID-19 tracker every five minutes, try clicking on some “good news” stories, like the five stories shared by the team at the Tamarack Institute (click here for the link). Or maybe take a few minutes to watch a DJ in Dublin hosting rounds of BINGO from his balcony (watch the video by clicking here).  Looking for something to watch with your kids? Check out Woodstock’s Virtual Storytime. It’s a brilliant way to keep your kids entertained, and you’ll probably enjoy it as well. Tune in by clicking here.

P.S If enjoyed the blog, please share it with colleagues, friends and family. I’d really appreciate it.
